Video marketing is powerful. According to Forrester research, a one-minute video is worth 1.8 million words. Wow! You can’t ignore this type of marketing, especially when it’s easier than ever today.
We’ve just completed a short video on Common Mistakes Doctors Make on Google+. It’s a little longer than normal because it was condensed from our online client briefing. Still, you can learn a lot in 5 minutes —a lot less time that it would take you to research.
Easy Video Marketing
With today’s technology, there are many ways to create great videos. Unless you’re condensing a training session, try to keep them between one and two minutes.
- Smartphone: Set up a place in your medical spa or plastic surgery practice where you can video testimonials from patients. Testing lighting, background noise, setting, volume, etc. in advance, you’re ready for the video when a patient agrees to do a testimonial. Advance planning makes this work.
- Product videos: If your practice offers skin care, makeup or health products, bring them alive in video marketing. Set up is key to doing this efficiently. You can probably do it in the same place you’re recording testimonials. Show the products being used, results, etc. Don’t just show the products—add interest by using your staff.
- GoToMeeting: Most online meeting sites offer recording services. This is ideal to narrate PowerPoint presentations about new services and products. Create 3 or 4 slides, upload to the site, and then record your comments. You’re done!
- Video Editing: Not every video turns out as you planned. You can re-record since it’s short. Or, you can edit your video with just a little technology knowledge. There are lots of software and editing sites to guide you. Just Google video editing to find one that’s right for your skills and budget.
